Robert Chang returns to Nantucket with Michelin starred Chef Gabriel Kreuther with the American Truffle Revolution for the 21st annual Nantucket Wine & Food Festival, May 16-20. Throughout the festival weekend, Robert and Chef Gabriel will be present truffle programs, cooking demos and fabulous truffle dishes.
Friday’s program, Robert offers a shortcut to becoming a truffle connoisseur through an interactive experience that reveals the flavors, gastronomy, history and mystery of black truffles. He’ll also discuss how American Truffle Company has been leading the way in applying cutting edge science to reliably cultivate these ‘black diamonds’ in truffle orchards around the country. On the culinary side, Chef Gabriel will share how to best select and store truffles as he prepares a delectable truffle canapé and assiette paired perfectly with a sampling of exquisite wines, including NV Champagne Delamotte, Brut, Le Mesnil sur-Oger, and 2013 Domaine Pierre Damoy, Grand Cru, Chambe. On Saturday, Robert Chef Gabriel Kreuther, will be front and center for a very special Truffles and Wine Dinner featuring black Périgord truffle dishes served with the superb wines of Olivier Leflaive as part of the festival’s Great Wines in Grand Houses series. Guests will enjoy an exceptional culinary adventure featuring the delicate, earthy and complex character of this most noble, edible fungi (aka black diamond). Robert will share insights into the exciting world of truffles while guests savor expertly prepared truffle dishes by Chef Gabriel perfectly paired with wines―predominately Premier Cru Burgundy selections presented primarily out of Magnums, the way these wines are best enjoyed!
