Chef Cristina BowermanCristina Bowerman is a multi-talented chef with a passion for travel and innovative cooking. Born in Cerignola, Puglia, in the south of Italy, she grew up in an internationally-minded family. She studied language, earned a law degree and practiced law before moving to the United States where she graduated from the Culinary Arts at the University of Austin, Texas Culinary Academy with the program of the famous Paris school, Cordon Bleu, Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.

In 2004, she returned to Italy, keen on inspiring a new generation of female chefs and leading a fresh, modern era of Italian cooking that she’s expressed in the kitchen of Glass Hostaria since 2006 where she’s received numerous national awards, including ‘two forks’ from The Gambero Rosso Guide in 2008 and a Michelin star in 2010, the only woman for that year. Additionally, she has been a director and teacher of professional cooking courses at various Italian and foreign schools, and was awarded to Golose Identità in 2013. Her “story” and Glass restaurant became a case study at Bocconi University in the 2010 program.

Cristina continues to cultivate her passion for cooking and studying with a special focus on the application of science in the kitchen. Glass Hostaria, an ultra-modern gem located in the heart of Trastevere, is the perfect venue for her creative plates, which are rooted in Italian tradition and enhanced with a contemporary international flair.
