Napa Truffle Festival Market Place at Oxbow Public Market – The 8th Year of the Napa Truffle Festival
Every year on the Monday after the big Truffle Festival weekend, the purveyors and shops at Oxbow Public Market in Napa open their doors free to the public a delicious variety of Truffle Tastings, Truffle cooking demos and special offerings from the many vendors at this popular open indoor market place.
Also offered are wine tasting, craft beers, so many other wonderful things. Guests came from all over with a full house of eager truffle enthusiasts anxious to partake in the delicious tastings as well as truffle inspired full lunch menus. There was even a truffle dog demonstration showing the art of seeking and digging for truffles.
The day started out with a fabulous cooking demonstration by Todd Humphries Chef of Kitchen Door at Oxbow. The restaurant was filled with those eager to learn the preparation of Humphries well-known soup dish – Cream of Mushroom Soup with Fresh Grated Truffle Gemelli Pasta with Parmesan Cream, Mushrooms and Shaved Truffle. The demonstration was orchestrated by the very charming and gregarious, “Foodie Chap” Liam Mayclem from CBS Radio. After the demonstration, hungry guests either sat down to a full truffle inspired lunch of soup and pizza’s and other truffle things nice or for a $5 truffle buck one could sample the delicious flavors of Todd Humphries’ soup.
